Fox Meadow English Cream Goldens is run by John and Sue, right out of our home in Spencerport, New York.
We brought Rosie home in April 2020. John grew up in a family of professional breeders and has been around Golden Retrievers his whole life, so after a lot of research into English Cream Goldens, we partnered with River Valley Golden Retrievers to begin our own small program.
Sue is a nurse, and her experience has been a real blessing when it comes to preparing for each birth and caring for newborn puppies through those first delicate weeks. Along the way we've leaned on Rosie's breeder, our veterinarians, and even the experts at Cornell University to make sure we're doing right by our dogs.
Our girl Rosie has raised three litters — twenty-three puppies over four years — all sired by Axel. Both are health-tested and AKC-registered, and every puppy we place is registered as well.
Because we're a small program, each litter is a family event. The puppies are never far from us, and by the time they're ready to leave they've been held, played with, and loved on more times than we could ever count.
Puppies stay with us for a full eight weeks — raised in the middle of our home, not in a kennel — so they're comfortable with family life from day one.
They're introduced to children, other pets, and all kinds of noises, scents, and surfaces to help them grow up confident and adaptable.
Both parents are health-tested. Puppies are seen by our vet, and Sue's nursing background means they get attentive care from their very first day.
Our dogs and their puppies are AKC-registered — English Cream Goldens are Golden Retrievers, with all their wonderful attributes.
As part of the reservation process we set up a Zoom or FaceTime interview, so we can meet each other and make sure it's a good fit for everyone — puppy included.
Fewer than 25 puppies find homes with us each year. This is a labor of love, not a business — and it shows in every litter.
